Originating from the vision of Wildsight in 2020, the Youth Climate Corps British Columbia (YCCBC) has rapidly evolved from a pioneering venture in Nelson, BC, with a modest crew of fourteen youth, into a beacon of youth-led climate action across the West Kootenay region and beyond. Garnering accolades such as the 2020 Sustainability Leadership Award from the City of Nelson, YCCBC's track record is stellar, with initiatives spanning wildfire risk reduction, local food security, energy retrofits, and ecosystem restoration.
