Youth Climate Corps Peer Network

A peer network for youth to create projects, find funding, connect with mentors and more.

About

The YCC Peer Network represents an empowering cadre of current and future members belonging to the Youth Climate Corps (YCC), with a mission deeply rooted in enabling youth to spearhead climate change mitigation and adaptation projects. This platform is not just a network; it serves as a springboard that aids its members in project creation, securing funding, and fostering connections within the community, amplifying the collective impact on environmental preservation and climate resilience.

Originating from the vision of Wildsight in 2020, the Youth Climate Corps British Columbia (YCCBC) has rapidly evolved from a pioneering venture in Nelson, BC, with a modest crew of fourteen youth, into a beacon of youth-led climate action across the West Kootenay region and beyond. Garnering accolades such as the 2020 Sustainability Leadership Award from the City of Nelson, YCCBC's track record is stellar, with initiatives spanning wildfire risk reduction, local food security, energy retrofits, and ecosystem restoration. This network does more than connect; it galvanizes the new generation of climate champions, instilling hope and driving tangible change towards a sustainable, low-carbon future across British Columbia. Through diverse projects and a commitment to youth empowerment, the YCC Peer Network epitomizes the power of collective action in the face of the global climate crisis.
